Many splendid statues and ornanments have been stolen from Compton Acres over the years.

It is sad to think that at a place of creation and tranquility, a few thieves would deny the enjoyment of so many thousands of people .

Returning visitors still ask about two superb bronze statues - the Dying Spartan Soldier (right), and
Hermes The Winged Messenger (bottom right) that were plundered from the Palm Court during the 1980'S.

Plinths in this garden still remain empty waiting for their return.

The current owners have reinstated the reward previously offered and increased it to £5000 (per statue) for information leading to the safe return of these bronzes.
